Defining Moments

Tim is my first ‘08 senior, a football player at Regina. We had a nice Friday evening combo session, at the studio then at his grandfather’s place (so we had room to shoot Tim with his car). Full gallery HERE, and a couple of my favorites below:

Loooong ago, I was the front-man for a band that Scott was in. After not seeing him for over 20 years, I bumped into him when his band was playing for Riverside’s Trek Fest. I sent Scott a couple of snapshots from their show, and the band invited me to come to a gig and get more photos. HERE is the gallery of images from that show, where they opened for Cross Canadian Ragweed.

Low light, live show photography is not what I do best, but I had a great time and was pretty pleased with the images. I felt extra cool being able to walk around backstage, too!;) I’m hoping to do some promo shots for their upcoming CD. They’ve used lots of my work on their website.

Ashley Gillette was recently diagnosed with Central Nervous System Vasculitis.  Her condition and associated travel for medical treatments have made it impossible for her to care for their three children, and her sister-in-law and many friends organized a benefit for the Gillette Family at The Mill in Iowa City.  I donated a photo session and prints for the silent auction, and did some photography for the event.  The benefit was a huge success, and so wonderful to see so many people willing to help someone in need!  Photos from the benefit are HERE.  Below is a portrait of the Gillette family I did a couple of years ago.

For the first time ever, I went to the Iowa City Aerohawks Airshow. I was impressed!! This group is obviously very dedicated, and put on a great show. Unfortunately, we weren’t prepared for the extreme heat and sun, and the kids dragged us away after only an hour. I still got some really nice images of the planes, and there’s a sample below. We’re definitely going back next year!
